IRON INFUSIONS WITH WFP
At Western Family Practice, we provide safe and effective iron infusions for patients experiencing low iron or iron deficiency anaemia. Our experienced clinical team delivers iron infusions in a calm, supportive environment, ensuring your comfort and wellbeing throughout the process.
Low iron is a common condition and may occur for a range of reasons, including heavy menstrual bleeding, pregnancy, the postnatal period, or other medical conditions. Symptoms can include fatigue, reduced energy levels, breathlessness, dizziness, and difficulty concentrating. When oral iron supplements are not tolerated, ineffective, or when iron levels need to be restored more quickly, an intravenous (IV) iron infusion can be an effective treatment option.
Iron infusions at Western Family Practice are available to both our own patients and those referred from external practices. A referral from your GP or specialist is required, along with recent pathology results, particularly iron studies and a full blood count, prior to booking.
If you have been diagnosed with low iron or are experiencing symptoms that may be related, please contact us to discuss whether an iron infusion is suitable for you or to arrange an appointment.
