DIETITIAN SERVICES

At Western Family Practice, we recognise that nutrition plays a vital role in health at every stage of life. Early life nutrition, particularly during the first 1000 days (from conception to around two years of age), can have a lasting impact on long-term health and wellbeing. Our Dietitian services are designed to support individuals, parents, infants and young children with practical, evidence-based nutrition advice tailored to their unique needs.

Our experienced Dietitian works closely with families to provide clear guidance in what can often feel like an overwhelming nutrition landscape. We focus on realistic, sustainable strategies that fit into everyday life, helping you make informed decisions with confidence.

How Our Dietitian Can Help

Our Dietitian provides support across a range of areas, including:

  • Nutrition support during breastfeeding

  • Infant and child nutrition, including guidance on formula feeding where breastfeeding is not possible

  • Support for common infant and childhood concerns such as reflux, colic, eczema, constipation, iron deficiency and fussy eating

  • Assessment and management of food intolerances and food allergies, including guided elimination and food-challenge diets while ensuring nutritional adequacy

  • Support with the introduction of solids to help build positive feeding experiences and confident eaters

  • Growth monitoring and nutrition support for children experiencing challenges with weight gain or growth

Our Dietitian works collaboratively with your GP and the broader Western Family Practice team to ensure coordinated, holistic care. Whether you are seeking guidance for yourself or your child, our goal is to provide clear, practical support to help you feel confident in your nutrition choices and support long-term health and wellbeing.
